Hey there everyone. I've searched this problem through the forum, but I wasn't able to find a topic that had a similar problem to my issue. I'm trying to repair my cousin's laptop, it's an old Dell Latitude D600. It had been exposed to a large number of viruses and the only real choice was to wipe the hard drive. Prior to wiping, the CD drive was not working, and attempts to reinstall the driver were met with a lack of success (the installer froze). I used Hiren's Boot CD on a bootable USB (Created with the UNetBootin' program) and did a nuke of the hard drive.
